Miss Dior
This TV Advertisement is for a perfume called Miss Dior which is similar to Christian Dior. Miss Dior is a 1974 perfume that was created by Christian Nagel for Christian Dior. The whole 54-second video is based on love and they use a woman and a man to play the role. The woman is the main character for the clip; they use a wide range of low angles, high angles close up, mid-shot, and long shots. They mostly use close-ups to show the character's facial expressions in different scenes when she is happy or sad. They had an over-the-shoulder look at the woman saying proof it while the man says I love you which was part of the Miss Dior perfume and the advertisement was based on love.
In one of the other scenes where a group of girls in a pink car with the main character driving and writing love on the concrete with a pink tire smoke which has the color of what women are portrayed as wearing and shows us that the perfume is for women. The pink connotes love, kindness, and femininity which was involved in the video because they were a lot of women in the pink vehicle with pink tires smoke. This color further shows us that the video is based on women and they will find this more interesting than men. The woman shouted 'proof' to the man which shows her aggression towards the man and pushes him away, later on, this shows that the woman is more dominant in this video and also that she is the main protagonist. When the woman is on the bed the man is touching her face however her expression can show her sexual desire and her being on time with the music when she is moving her head to look up.
For Donald Gunn's theory, they use 2 different types which are: Benefit causes story and Associated user imagery. The theory of Benefit causes means to create a story around the product which is quite exaggerated and tends to have less concentration on the product itself. The whole advert has been based on the perfume however they show it at the end of the video. At the start of the video, they show a girl and start talking about love and her having a falling out with the person she's dating and later on has love written on the floor and later on shows the product, this tells me that the whole theme is about love which the perfume helps bring. The second theory was associated user imagery which means that they target a wide audience by telling them they too can look like the socially constructed depiction of the perfect man or woman in their product. This is involved in the short video because the beautiful woman is shown for the perfume and they are showing the audience that the perfume can make you smell nice and feel beautiful.
Print advertisement
This print advertisement is for a GTA 3 game which was mostly played back in the day on ps2. This was created by rockstar and was released on 22 October 2001. This wasn't the only game that was released and had two others which were GTA 2 and GTA. They used a lot of colors for all of the pictures and they were mostly of people's faces and long shots of someone behind a car or holding a bat. They mostly used close-ups and mid-shots of people's faces.
They used bold writing for grand theft auto 3 to make it stand out so that people can see the game name and search it up if they feel like getting more information and they have put the logo of the console that will be able to play the game, furthermore had it in writing under the link to the game. The 'Out now' had a nice font towards it because will still see it when looking down and that will be the second writing they would read on the print advertisement.
They kept a simple font for a quote above the out now this won't be seen by people however they will be people that come across it and try to understand the quote they have put on the advertisement.
The print advertisement shows a lot of people however the different camera angles can tell you who might be who meaning that the ones with half body shots or close-ups are of the bad people in the game or the good ones that helped you. red in the photos connote red which might mean they go with violence and blood. orange represents success, determination, and happiness however it can be used differently in games and might connote distrust and deceit. The pictures with full-body can indicate the main character because of how they show a bit of his face and him next to a car; Him holding a bat can indicate violence and show that the game involves a lot of violence and may be blood-related.
Donald gunn's theory that is used in this print advertisement is: 'Show the need or problem' from the print advertisement I can tell that there is going to be a lot of violence in the game and they would be a lot of problems the main character would have to solve for other people and from the pictures it also shows that the game would be gang-related which might involve guns.
Web-based advertisement
Jojo's bizarre adventure Stone Ocean is an anime that is most watched and was released on December 1, 2021. This advertisement has the cover of the Jojo Bizzare series and promotes when it will be coming out and on what type of website it would be coming out. There are a lot of Jojo series and more to come, the latest ones that have come out are parts 1-6 including this one. They had the font of Jojo stand out because the main character is part of the Jojo which is easy to understand when watching the first part of Jojo. The Netflix color is the same as their site color which was red and shows that it is directed to that type of Netflix site. Netflix has a wide range of shows involved in it and the company Netflix is doing the production of Jojo. They made the font size smaller for the stone ocean which is the name of the serious however they had it in bold which made it fancy and allow you to acknowledge it furthermore the butterfly icon in the middle of the stone and ocean might be related to her symbol. At the bottom with the Netflix, you can see the episode 13-24 coming 2022 which isn't too eye-catching however people would look around the whole advert and see if there's any date on when it will be coming out which can also be the main focus of the audience. The top left has the logo of Crunchyroll which shows that it is their post and they have claimed this which can prove that it is the correct information on when the show is coming out.
This advertisement was done by Crunchyroll which is a popular anime site people use and they promoted this anime that's going to be on Netflix on Instagram. From the middle of the picture, we can tell that she is the main character, and seems like the whole background and clothing is mostly green which connotes health, freshness, and serenity which shows that the two characters besides her are the ones helping here however from all the poses together seems like they all work together to achieve something and might have different backgrounds from each other. The female in the web-based advertisement is being sexualized because of the open clothing in the middle and around her body, furthermore, she looks like a person who feels superior to others, and also this seems based on females which would interest other females to watch. However, there are male characters involved in this anime who gets portrayed as a woman and some people might refer to them as homosexual and a lot of people get offended by that.
The Donald Gunns theory used in this is: 'symbolize the problem' at the start of the trailer it shows a scene of what has happened and eventually they would fix it but it goes through a lot of processes.
